'When I was a a girl, the lighthouse
shone in my window'
I would drive 50 miles just to see
the sea. Look at it, turn around, go
back...
'That shark was over 800 pounds. It
was a huge white. They pulled it in the
boat and I was on a milkcrate, steering
the boat barefoot.'
'We were divorced in June, 1999.
Twenty-Five years. I'm back in the
fish business, kind of...'
' I don't know if there's too many
opportunities in your lifetime when you
help a woman bring her baby into the
world... and tell her her husband's gone.'
'I'm glad I'm a faith woman. I'm a
catholic...'
There's just one sad part on my dad's
boat. A long time ago, we went to the
island with a golden retriever and he
licked the salt water. And so he got sick
at the island and died.'
'There are over 500 million years of
evolution between us and a
salmon. And they are beautiful.'
